Built on a lively rhythm and an easy sense of momentum, the track pulls from hip-hop, R&B, funk and dance music without making a big deal out of where one influence ends and another begins. Produced by Tweak on the Beat and Ned.Beats, it has a bounce that carries the whole record forward, with melodic moments, rap verses and bright production all working together.
For Isaiah Moore, the song arrives as he continues to develop his place within NOVAK Music. Born and raised in Texas, Moore started taking music seriously around the age of 15. Hip-hop and R&B were early foundations, with artists including Tupac, J. Cole, Joyner Lucas and Nipsey Hussle among his influences, alongside the sounds and artists he grew up around in Texas.
That range has shaped the way he approaches his own music. Moore isn’t locked into being just a rapper or just a singer, and “Whip It / Flip It” gives him room to move between the two.
Ric Wilson brings another perspective to the track. The Chicago artist’s energy fits naturally alongside Moore’s, and the collaboration doesn’t sound forced or overly polished into place. The two artists play off the production and each other, giving the song a loose, social feel.
The connection itself started with Tweak on the Beat, who brought Moore and Wilson together. Along with Ned.Beats, he produced the record as part of the NOVAK Music team. The independent collective currently includes producers Tweak, Tracy Winckler, Ned.Beats and JxK, with Moore representing the artist side of the operation.

With a publishing agreement through EMPIRE and more collaborations ahead, NOVAK Music is continuing to build its identity through records like this one. “Whip It / Flip It” feels like a good snapshot of where the collective is headed: different influences meeting in the same place and nobody worrying too much about fitting into one category.
