On Thursday, June 5, Addison Rae gave fans a preview of her self-titled debut album, Addison, which was formally released a few hours later, at an exclusive, private album listening event held at The Box in New York City. Fans were given the chance to hear new songs live during the event, which was hosted by Spotify, before they were released at midnight.

Fans waited hours in advance for the opportunity to see her perform live at the exclusive event. Jade, Julia Fox, Clairo, and Conan Gray were among the well-known attendees.

Her debut single, “Obsessed,” was featured on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 list in 2021, marking her first appearance on Billboard’s charts. She collaborated with Charli XCX on her debut EP, AR, which was released in August 2023.

Her first major-label single under Columbia Records, “Diet Pepsi,” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 86 in September as a result of her growing fame. She released a number of further songs after this triumph, such as “Aquamarine,” “High Fashion,” and “Headphones On,” all of which demonstrated her developing sound and creative vision.

The night began with Addison Rae’s live rendition of “Fame Is a Gun,” as her dancers pushed her out onto the stage in a vertical silk bed as the Box’s curtains opened. The silk sheets were then torn off by her dancers, exposing Rae in burlesque-style lingerie, bound by her arms and legs.
