This week’s New Music Friday may not be the stocking-stuffer that was last week’s, but there’s still plenty of musical gifts to tide us over into Christmas.

Leading the bill (no pun intended) is Buffalo’s own Benny The Butcher, a rapper well-accustomed to the harsh conditions of winter, who delivers a double dose of grittiness as part of his new El Carnicero EP.

Smoothing things out with a Bay Area banger, Larry June‘s new single “The Smooth Kind” is exactly as advertised, while NBA YoungBoy invokes late Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain on the latest preview of his upcoming album Slime Cry.

In addition to new offerings from familiar names like Snoop DoggPolo GDaBabyMozzy and Dave East, there are a number of rising rap rookies looking to accelarate their ascent, with JID affiliate Kenny Mason, J. Cole-approved lyricist Marco Plus and fellow ATLien Lazer Dim 700 all dropping new projects.

Check out all the latest hip-hop albums and songs below.
